Your go-to guide to reducing inflammation.
Inflammation is one of those words that we hear often, but we don’t know much about; it is ominous and mysterious. However, it is actually one of the root causes behind many conditions and diseases such as diabetes, allergies, heart disease, depression, and even cancer. You can’t see it or feel it, but it may be silently affecting your body. Below, we have put together a list of 6 tips to help reduce inflammation naturally. Use these tips to feel lighter and brighter each day!
1. Get Moving
It has been proven that even 20 minutes of daily exercise can help to reduce inflammation. Exercise allows your immune system cells to prevent the inflammatory cells from working as strongly. That being said, make sure to get your body moving each day! This can be done by walking, jogging, going to the gym, or even doing some yoga and pilates in front of the TV. We are all busy, but we aren’t too busy to do what is right for our bodies.
2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega-3 Fatty acids help to reduce inflammation as well as your risk for other diseases such as heart disease which is the cause of around 600,000 deaths each year in America alone. Fish such as salmon and tuna are high in these fatty acids. If you are not a fan of fish, make sure to take Omega-3 Fatty Acid supplements to help reduce inflammation and prevent disease.
3. Eat your Greens
To reduce inflammation, fill up on kale, spinach, and other dark leafy greens to get extra vitamins in your diet. Dark greens are high in vitamin E which has been proven to help reduce inflammation. Add a spinach salad to two meals of your day to help introduce more greens into your diet.
4. Get Spicy
Ginger and tumeric are two spices that are well known for reducing inflammation. Throw these two in a blender with some spinach, mango, and a banana and you will have a tasty inflammation-reducing treat!
5. Drink Green Tea
Green tea is a natural anti-inflammatory and also helps to detoxify your body of any unwanted chemicals. Drink a cup a day to help detoxify your body and get a much-needed natural caffeine boost!
6. Don’t Forget to Sleep
Getting the proper amount of sleep is very important to reducing inflammation. Make sure to get about 8-9 hours of sleep each night. To ensure that you are reaping the benefits of this sleep, get and eye mask or dark curtains to cut as much light as possible from the room, and try not to use your electronics before bed or right when you wake up. This will help your boy get quality sleep and you will feel much more rested.
Following these 6 steps will not only help to reduce your inflammation, but they will help to make you feel happier and healthier. Each of these steps also contribute to better moods, more energy, and a healthier well-being. Health and wellness compliments each other and we hope you find that to be true when you follow these tips!
Have a great Friday!
